Deeply shocked. Fraser asked me if I would hear him play (not formal lessons, more a sharing of ideas) after he’d graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire. I wanted no fee but perhaps a beer (or two) which he generously provided! A gentle, sensitive but formidable musician, perhaps less certain of his gifts than others were.
